Despite sustaining a significant spinal injury at age 18 that delayed her goal of finishing dental hygiene school, she graduated at the age of 22. Laura loved practicing clinical dental hygiene. Often asked why she wasn’t a dentist, she eventually fulfilled that dream and graduated with honors from dental school at the age of 40 Laura purchased a small (864 sq feet) dental practice locally and as her practice has grown they have relocated to a larger facility with 7 operatories and an additional doctor.
Her life changed significantly a few years later through divorce, another injury to her spine, and an assault - all within the span of 6 months. These incidents lead to panic attacks, physical pain and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD.)
Healing & Yoga
Laura considers herself lucky to have had the support of her friends and community as she regained her footing. As she was healing, she was hungry to learn as much as she could about neuroscience techniques and self-care practices.
What began as healing for her has become a passion to help others as well. Laura is now certified as a laughter yoga instructor, emphasizing emotional strength training through laughter exercises.

Laura believes that it is important to not wait but plan for the future now; realizing that we are in charge of our own happiness. She shares these lessons of strength, resilience, hope, and joy with dental professionals across the country through her speaking and coaching programs.
